This privacy policy explains how Sporalia ("Sporalia", "we", "us") handles information when you play the Sporalia — Mushroom Forager mobile game (the "App") or visit sporalia.com (the "Website"). We have tried to write it in plain language. If anything is unclear, please email us.

The short version
  • The App has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
  • Your game progress is saved only on your own device. We never receive it.
  • The App does not ask for access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts or photos.
  • The Website uses no cookies and no analytics.
  • We only receive personal data if you choose to contact us, and we use it only to reply.
  • We never sell or share your personal information.

1. Who we are

Sporalia is an independent game studio and the developer of the App. For the purposes of data protection laws such as the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Sporalia is the controller of the limited personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at contact@sporalia.com.

2. Information in the App

Data we do not collect

The App is designed to work without collecting personal data. We do not collect, receive or store:

  • your name, email address, phone number or any account details — there is no sign-in;
  • your precise or approximate location;
  • advertising identifiers, device fingerprints or usage analytics;
  • photos, contacts, microphone or camera data.

The App contains no third-party advertising, analytics or tracking software (SDKs), and it does not track you across other apps or websites.

Data stored only on your device

To let you continue where you left off, the App saves the following locally on your device:

WhatWhy
Game progress (level, XP, coins, inventory, journal discoveries, unlocked areas)So your game is saved between sessions
Settings (sound, graphics quality, map orientation and similar preferences)So the App remembers your choices
Technical caches (for example pre-rendered images)To make the App load faster

This data never leaves your device and is not sent to us or anyone else. You can delete it at any time by clearing the App's data in your device settings or by uninstalling the App. Please note that, because we do not hold a copy, we cannot restore lost progress. Your device's own backup service (such as iCloud or Google backup) may include this data according to your device settings and the provider's privacy policy.

Device permissions

The App only uses standard internet access that is built into the app framework. It does not request permission to access location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos or other sensitive features.

3. Information on the Website

  • No cookies, no analytics. The Website does not set cookies and does not use analytics, advertising pixels or embedded social-media trackers. Fonts and scripts are served from our own website, not from third-party services.
  • Device detection. To suggest the right app store, a small script in your browser reads your browser's "user agent" to tell whether you are on iOS or Android. This check happens entirely on your device; the result is not sent to us.
  • Local storage. If you close the "install the app" banner, your browser remembers the date you closed it (in local storage) so the banner stays hidden for 14 days. This value stays in your browser and you can clear it at any time via your browser settings.
  • Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider may automatically record technical information when pages are requested — such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are used only to keep the Website secure and working, and are deleted on a short rolling basis.
  • Links to social media. The Website links to our pages on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. These are plain links: nothing is shared with those platforms unless you click through, after which their own privacy policies apply.

4. When you contact us

If you email us, we receive the information you choose to give us — usually your name, email address, your message and anything else you include, such as your device type.

We use this information only to read and respond to your message, to fix any bugs you report and to keep a record of our conversation. We will never add you to a mailing list or use your details for marketing without your separate, explicit consent.

5. App stores & third parties

You download the App through Apple's App Store or Google Play. These stores process information about your purchase, download and device under their own privacy policies, and may share anonymous, aggregated statistics (such as download counts) and — only if you have allowed it in your device settings — crash reports with us. We use these solely to understand how many people play and to fix problems.

  • Replying to your messages: your consent, given when you send us a message, and our legitimate interest in providing support.
  • Server logs and security: our legitimate interest in running a safe and reliable website.
  • Local storage of the banner preference: strictly necessary to remember the choice you made.

7. How long we keep data

  • Support emails: kept for up to 24 months after our conversation ends, then deleted — unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Server logs: kept only for a short period by our hosting provider for security purposes.
  • In-App data: stays on your device until you delete it; we never hold a copy.

8. Sharing & international transfers

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We may share limited data only with:

  • service providers that help us run the Website and our email (for example our hosting and email providers), who may only process it on our instructions;
  • authorities, if we are legally required to do so, or to protect the rights and safety of our players and others.

Some of these providers may be located outside your country, including outside the EEA or UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Security

The Website is served over encrypted HTTPS, and we keep the small amount of personal data we hold in access-protected accounts. Because the App stores your progress only on your device, its security also depends on keeping your device protected with a passcode and up-to-date software. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

10. Children

Sporalia is a gentle game suitable for a general audience, but it is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). Because the App collects no personal data, children can play without sharing any. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children by email; if you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Safety reminder: Sporalia is for entertainment and education only. Never eat a wild mushroom based on anything you see in the game.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
  • ask us to correct or delete it;
  • object to or restrict how we use it;
  • withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect anything we did before);
  • receive your data in a portable format.

California residents: under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know, delete and correct personal information, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing". We do not sell or share personal information, and we will never discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

To use any of these rights, email contact@sporalia.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority, although we would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the App or Website changes, or when the law requires it. We will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and if we make a significant change — for example, if we ever introduce a feature that collects personal data — we will tell you clearly in the App or on this Website before it takes effect.
